Peter was a boarder at Ayton Sep 1938 - June 1940. Peter had just settled in at Ayton when in the summer of 1940 he was sent, at age 14, by sea to New Jersey in the USA. Three years later, in 1943, he returned to England to join the Royal Navy. |
